Respite may have come to the commuters of the beleaguered and ever busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway if we are to go by the words of Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun!
The governor gave this indication when he paid a visit to failed portions in the Arepo and Warewa areas of the road.
According to the governor, palliative works have commenced on the road that will span for one month. Uninterrupted work, he said, would start daily from 8pm and terminate at 6am!
But what keen observers on the politics of the road should be worried about is the point or angle the governor was talking from since the road is a Trunk A road belonging to the Federal Government and also for the fact that the contract for the road had been awarded to Julius Berger!
There has been outrage by motorists and residents along the road because of perennial and excruciating traffic in the past few weeks.
