Nigeria table tennis star, Offiong Edem, has said her target   is to help her Portuguese club ADC Ponta do Pargo win the league title at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old joined ADC Ponta do Pargo after the 2015 All Africa Games in Congo.

The club are currently leading the Portuguese women’s league, which began in October.

Edem told our correspondent that she joined the club to win the league title and other competitions.

“I joined the club because of their records in the Portuguese women’s league. I am in Portugal to win trophies and help my team win titles. We are challenging for the title and we have won our matches so far,” the ping ponger told our correspondent online.

Edem lamented she could not defend her women’s single title in Congo, adding that she would work harder to return to her number one position on the continent.

She said, “I’m not thinking about the All Africa Games but focused on my club career.

“There are more competitions and I am working hard to bounce back. I believe I can return to the top of African table tennis.”
